Croatia National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme (AVRR.HR) will support migrants in Croatia willing to return voluntarily to their country of origin and contribute to the sustainable reintegration of those eligible for reintegration assistance. It will provide return assistance to migrants in an irregular situation who are under a legal obligation to leave the country, or who do not or do no longer fulfil the conditions for entry, stay or legal residence in the destination country; applicants for international protection whose application has been rejected; applicants for international protection who withdrew their application for international protection; applicants of international protection and beneficiaries of international protection who choose to return home; and migrants in situation of vulnerability.
Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) is a key strategy in ensuring humane and orderly return of migrants to their Countries of Origin (CoO). It is an indispensable component of a migration management approach mutually beneficial to migrants, governments and other relevant stakeholders affected by migration. AVRR can also have a sustainable effect through well-tailored reintegration measures supporting the socio-economic integration in the respective country of origin. Reintegration assistance is critical in view of the sustainability of the reintegration process as it can help addressing economic, social and psycho-social needs that the migrant might face upon return to the country of origin.
The project is planned to last for 24 months and will aim to cover a population of 1,000 potential beneficiaries who will receive information on AVRR options available to them. These recipients of AVRR-related information are expected to yield a caseload of 200 AVRR.HR beneficiaries. Reintegration Assistance (RA) will be planned for a number of the overall beneficiaries, and will be granted based on the needs and vulnerability criteria to be developed during the project inception period.
