Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. IOM Re-Health2 National Consultative Committee held in Zagreb on 27 September 2017
IOM Office Zagreb organized National Consultative Committee related to Re-Health2 project which took place in Zagreb, Hotel Dubrovnik on 27 September 2017.
Re-Health2 is a project co-financed under the Third Health Program of the European Union (Work plan 2017). The purpose of the project is the implementation of the Personal Health Record as a tool for integration of refugees into the EU health systems. The action is the follow up of the previous Re-Health initiative, which has been concluded on May 2017.
The National Consultative Committee gathered various participants and experts from the governmental bodies and NGOs. The event was opened by Ms. Tatjana Radošević who made an introduction on goals and objectives of the project.
Ms Roumyana Petrova Benedict, IOM RO Brussels, Senior Regional Migration Health Adviser presented an general update on IOM activities in the field of Migration Health: Re-Health2.
Re-Health and Migration Health from the EU perspective was the main theme of the presentation held by Ms Isabel de La Manta, DG SANTE, Principal Advisor for Health and Crisis Management.
Ms Božica Šarić from Ministry of Health, Service for European Affairs and Mr Antonija Belanović, MD, PhD, Health Care Centre Zagreb, Director explained overall primary health care services available to migrants and refugees in Croatia.
Consequently. Ms Elena Val from IOM RO Brussels, Health Divison presented practices in health mediation to ensure adequate provision of care.
The last presentation of the event was dedicated to the benefits of the electronic personal health records in practice held by Mr Mehran Shafie and Mr Ivan Piteša from IOM Zagreb.
