IOM participates in Croatia’s safe mobility fair
On 9 May 2016 the European Commission Representation in Croatia in cooperation with the Croatian Employment Service / EURES Croatia organizes Croatia’s safe mobility fair.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness about the importance of informing the citizens who are planning their education or employment in other European countries, and prevent the risks associated with mobility, such as fraud, trafficking in human beings, undeclared work or loss of rights in the field of social security.
The representatives of European institutions and networks will be available to provide relevant information to the visitors and familiarize them with the requirements of safe movement in the European market and the rights arising from the status of EU citizens.
The fair will start at 11am and will run until 5pm at Europski trg (Europe square) in Zagreb city centre and is open to members of the public with no need for registration.
It will consist of two components: an exhibition part with stands providing general information to visitors and giving them the chance to talk to experts directly, and a presentation part where more detailed information on specific aspects of safe mobility will be given.
Representatives from all institutions and EU networks specialized in different fields related to EU mobility such as work, education, social security rights, and the prevention of trafficking, will be available to offer practical information.
IOM Croatia will be represented by Ms. Nera Komarić who will make a presentation on the role of the European Migration Network.
