Our WorkAs the leading inter-governmental organization promoting since 1951 humane and orderly migration, IOM plays a key role to support the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through different areas of intervention that connect both humanitarian assistance and sustainable development. Across Croatia, IOM contributes to the government’s migration management efforts and alignment with EU standards, in close cooperation with national counterparts.

IOM Croatia participated on EUMASS meeting Zagreb 22 – 23 September 2017
EUMASS ( European Union of Medicine in Assurance and Social Security) meeting was held in Zagrebu on 22nd-23rd September 2017.
Participants had a chance to hear lectures about health insurance system and temporary sick leave in Croatia, the specifics of psychiatric symptomatology in Croatia in the post war period and about the social and health problems of the immigration population.
Mr. Ivan Piteša, Migration Response Coordinator from IOM office Zagreb made a presentation on migration health in emergencies using the opportunity to present IOM Re Health projects (1 and 2) as an successful example of dealing with health issues related to the migrants. His presentation also tackled basic IOM activities in relation to the data collection concerning migrant's health conducted in Winter Reception/Transit Center Slavonski Brod, during the migrant crisis on the Balkan route from 16 Sep 2015 to 5 Mar 2016.
