IOM Croatia invites Colombian nationals stranded in Croatia due to the COVID-19 pandemic to contact the Zagreb office to receive more information about return assistance on 19 June 2020

The Colombian Embassy in Vienna, which is covering the territory of the Republic of Croatia, has received a green light from the Colombian authorities to organize a humanitarian flight for the benefit of stranded Colombian nationals in Croatia. This special line would help stranded EU nationals return from Colombia and Colombian nationals stranded in Croatia return by a flight operated from Vienna airport. The flight operated by the Colombian airline AVIANCA has been tentatively scheduled for 19 June 2020 for Colombian nationals stranded in Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Slovenia and Slovakia.  

Through its “Croatia National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme (AVRR.HR)”, IOM Croatia invites all interested Colombian nationals who found themselves stranded in Croatia due to the suspension of all travels and border closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, to contact the office and obtain relevant information regarding their possible return to Colombia.

Given a short period before the flight, all Colombian nationals who are in need of assistance and interested to explore this option are invited to contact IOM Office in Zagreb as soon as possible. IOM’s “Croatia National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme (AVRR.HR)” supports migrants in Croatia willing to return voluntarily to their country of origin and contributes to the sustainable reintegration of those eligible for reintegration assistance. The programme is funded by the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of the Interior through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and implemented by International Organization for Migration (IOM).
